After your date with girl, you have to sit down and evaluate how you have done and whether there is any potential for something special or just to remain casual friends.

What have u did
Have you done things to impress  her for a second date? what was her reaction towards you.

You have to find out which actions you did pleased her. Which action caused her to frown/irritated her. All these questions you have to ask and evaluate yourself.
