It is always more gentlemanly if you can offer to pay the meal for your date. It show a the girl your generosity and sincerity.

I always offer to pay for my first date and that create a good impression on the girl, I know of friends who has cash flow problems asked to go 'Dutch' with the girl and he never got beyond the first date even when I gave him my advice before his date.

Whatever financial problems you have, it is best concealed, if not why go on dates in the first place if you cannot show your generosity?

Some girls pay their share

For some girls I went out with, they prefer to pay their share for the meal even after I offered to settle the bill in whole.

Sometimes you will find that the girl really cares for you and she is not after your money or being greedy. At other times, girls do not want to feel obligated for you paying as they feel that it is only a casual first date and both of you are not a couple yet. It will be different scenario once you become a couple.

Have enough funds

Overall, it is best to pay the bill on your first date. Always remember to bring more cash and use credit cards whenever possible.

This small gesture is very appreciated by women if you think than this is a small matter.
